I was feeling really depressed one day at work and needed some therapy and companion. Food and friends are definitely the best remedy.
So as I have been craving for sushi and sashimi for quite some time, I quickly shortlisted a few Japanese restaurant for our impromptu dinner and finally settled ourselves at Chikuwa Tei Japanese Restaurant.
It is a humble restaurant with a few bar counter seats and normal seatings. The service crews were very friendly and warming, just like those authentic Japanese restaurant. When we reached there, it was already full house. But the friendly service crew told us there will be seats available in 10 minutes time and gave us the menu to take a look first. We waited patiently and ordered our dishes before we got our table (‘cos we were famished!).
The prices were absolutely reasonable and affordable. For the tantalizing plate of sashimi for 2 (but 3 of us shared it and still feel satisfied!) cost about $38. Totally worth it. It was fresh and had retained the sweetness of the fish. The imperfection is if you love thin slices of sashimi, these might not appeal to you.
As I was craving for sushi, I ordered a tempura maki and my all-time favourite soft shell crab handroll. It was above average but I would prefer if the sushi rice is more grainy. Personal preference of course. The rest ordered their bento sets which was very worth it. Price of bento ranges from $12 to $20. And quality definitely worth more than what you paid for.
Love dinner dates like these with my colleagues, de-stressing and chilling after work. Its the companion and friendship that keeps people living in that environment. I’m also very grateful to have such lovely colleagues that anybody else would ask for.
P.S. I need a compact camera. My phone’s camera sucks.
